We're a fun, welcoming group of people from different backgrounds, professions and stages of life who share something in common: we want to make a difference in our community — and have some fun along the way.
Whether you're looking for volunteer opportunities in St. Catharines, a way to give back, new friendships or a chance to get more involved in the community, Rotary Lakeshore offers many ways to participate.
You might find us volunteering at a local project, supporting youth, helping community organizations, raising funds for important causes or contributing to Rotary projects around the world.
There's no one way to be a Rotarian. Find the opportunities that are right for you.
What Is It Like to Be Part of Rotary Lakeshore?
We believe Rotary should fit into busy lives.
Our club meets just twice a month — on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn & Suites on Ontario Street in St. Catharines.
There's no set dinner or meal charge. Members and guests order from the menu and choose what works for them — whether that's a coffee, something light or a full meal.
Our meetings are relaxed and friendly, with time to catch up and enjoy each other's company. We also have a short formal program, usually featuring an interesting guest speaker from our community, updates on Rotary projects and opportunities to get involved.
Service That Fits Your Interests
One of the great things about Rotary is the variety.
Some members love hands-on volunteering in St. Catharines and Niagara. Others are passionate about youth, the environment, international projects, fundraising or helping local organizations. Some enjoy taking on leadership roles, while others simply want to lend a hand when they can.
You choose how you want to get involved.
And you don't have to wait until you're a member to experience what we do. Come volunteer with us and see Rotary in action.
More Than Volunteering
Rotary doesn't end when the project or meeting does.
We usually plan a social or fellowship activity each month, and we're always looking for something fun to try. You might find us visiting a local winery, trying lawn bowling, going to the theatre, taking a hike, exploring somewhere new or simply getting together for dinner.
Partners, family and friends often join us too.
Because Rotary isn't only about the difference we make. It's also about the friendships we build along the way.
What Guides Us?
Rotarians around the world use The Four-Way Test as a simple guide for the way we treat others, make decisions and serve our communities.
Of the things we think, say or do:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
It says a lot about the kind of club — and community — we strive to build.
