Throughout our club's history, Rotary Lakeshore has helped turn ideas into lasting change — building community spaces, supporting important initiatives and responding when our community needed us.
The projects featured here represent just some of the ways our members, together with community partners and other Rotary clubs, have helped shape St. Catharines and Niagara.

Greater Niagara Circle Route “Rotary Bridge
Connecting Communities — A Lasting Rotary Legacy
Rotary clubs across Niagara came together to help make an important connection in the 140-km Greater Niagara Circle Route along the Welland Canal.
The clubs contributed $43,000 in seed funding to help launch the project, which created a vital link in the trail between Thorold and Welland. Working together through the Rotarian Bridge Committee, Rotary's initial investment helped attract additional support from regional, provincial and federal governments.
The result was the Rotary Niagara Bridge — a lasting example of what can happen when Rotary clubs collaborate with community and government partners to turn an idea into something that continues to benefit Niagara residents and visitors today.

Marine Heritage Storyboard at
Celebrating Our Community's Connection to the Welland Canal
As part of the club's long-standing involvement with Charles Ansell Park, Rotary Lakeshore helped preserve and share an important piece of our community's marine heritage.
The storyboard highlights the history of the Welland Canal and the John O. McKellar propeller, helping visitors understand the important role the canal and shipping have played in shaping St. Catharines and Niagara.
It remains a permanent feature of the park — connecting visitors with our community's history and reflecting Rotary Lakeshore's commitment to creating spaces that inform, inspire and bring people together.
