The Literacy Committee is pleased to announce that the opening ceremony for the club’s first Little Lending Library (LLL) took place on August 2, 2022 at Happy Rolphs Animal Farm in St Catharines.

Our First Little Lending Library!

A crowd of Rotarians, and grandkids, joined our Literacy Committee in opening our first LLL. St. Catharines City Councillor Sal Sorrento also joined us to deliver remarks and congratulations on behalf of the City of St. Catharines.

We thank Bob Birrell (one of our members) - aka "Bob the Builder" - for constructing the LLL with such skill, determination and flair.

Big thanks as well to our sponsors:  Home Depot (St Catharines), the City of St Catharines and the Book Outlet for their significant contributions.  Partial financial support for the project came from the funds we earn through Delta charity bingo. Thanks to the Literacy Committee members for all their hard work and energy to encourage literacy and reading among kids in our community.

Stay tuned for news about our next LLL!
