Angela Wyrcimaga
Laura Corder

The Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore is pleased to welcome new members Laura Corder and Angela Wyrcimaga. Inducted virtually at the Club’s January 12th Zoom meeting, Membership Chair Marlene Mader visited each of the new members, all fully masked of course, to present them with their New Member packages.

Born and raised in Mississauga, then moving to Vineland three years ago to be closer to her family, Laura has been a member of the Rotary Club of Lincoln for the past two years, transferring to St. Catharines Lakeshore recently. With a BA in Geography from Carleton University in Ottawa, she has worked in a wide variety of sectors, honing her skills in customer/client service, accounting, facilities administration and office management. Today, Laura serves as an Administrative Assistant at the Welland location of Niagara Community Legal Clinic, assisting low-income clients. While volunteering at the Heritage Gift Shop in Jordan, she met a kind woman who introduced her to the Rotary Club of Lincoln. In November 2021, Laura was nominated by the Heritage Gift Shop for a “Good Citizen Award” which she received from the Town of Lincoln. Laura also volunteers monthly for the Breakfast Program at St. Georges Anglican Church in St. Catharines, an organization our World & Community Committee recently supported with a donation.

Angela is new to Rotary. A life-long resident of Niagara, born and raised in Beamsville, she holds the position of Manager of Human Resources at Pathstone Mental Health in St. Catharines. Pathstone’s life changing work supports Niagara’s children, youth and families on a daily basis. She attended both Beamsville District Secondary School and Ridley College for high school, continuing her education at the University of Western Ontario graduating with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy. After graduation, she obtained both her Ontario Real Estate license and Broker’s license and joined the family business. After a few years and realizing she didn’t see the business as her forever career, she enrolled in Niagara College’s Business Administration – Human Resources Co-op diploma program. While in that program, she was placed at the Niagara Centre for Youth Care learning more about children’s mental health and the services offered by NCYC.

Angela has held many volunteer positions including coaching youth soccer and serving as a  Director on various Boards and committees including DeafBlind Ontario Services (Newmarket), Early Childhood Community Development Centre (ECCDC)(Current) and Chaika Ukrainian Song and Dance Ensemble (Hamilton) (Current).  Another passion is world travel, having travelled extensively over the last twenty years to places including much of Europe, Hong Kong, Egypt, Iceland, most U.S. states, cross Canada east to west, the Caribbean, South America and her favorite city to date – Copenhagen.
